Pune: Now, feel the thrill of wild outdoors with a touch of luxury
The Covid-19 pandemic and limitations have fueled people's need to get out of their homes, from staycations to workations and revenge tourism. While camping has long been a popular pastime, not everyone enjoys pitching a tent in the dirt or sleeping in sleeping bags while eating instant noodles for lunch or dinner. And this is where glamping, or luxurious camping, comes in, where one may enjoy the thrills and excitement of the great outdoors while staying in a tent with hotel-like amenities. Private estates in Pune, particularly around water bodies, have set up similar tents where visitors may relax in the winter sun while enjoying fine food, music, and lodging. Sarmad Kadiri, who went glamping with his wife and little kid, believes that three criteria — safety, hygiene, and comfort — work in their favour, with the sole drawback being the greater cost. "I used to go camping in various locations, but my wife wanted something more comfortable and sanitary because we have a young child with us." Glamping locations have a lot to offer in terms of facilities. Because the tents are small and have personal spaces around them, one may enjoy the outdoors while keeping a safe distance from others. The only disadvantage is that it is not inexpensive," Kadiri explained. Glamping, rather than camping, appeals to Akshay Kudale, a 25-year-old software developer. "We got the entire restaurant to ourselves when I went with my buddies." We were surrounded by countryside on all sides. There were a lot of board games, and we finally got around to playing cricket after a long time. In the meantime, there was a workplace emergency, and I was able to effortlessly log in and finish my work using my laptop. "It was a wonderful stress reliever," Kudale added.
